Mum hailed a 'hero' for genius place she hides her chocolate stash from her kids

A mum has been hailed a "hero" after revealing how she manages to keep her sweet treats hidden from her family.

Now that a second lockdown has been announced, Jenny Hourd has shared what she calls her "number 1 parenting tip" - the one place her children - and partner - never think to look for her chocolate bars.

Jenny shared a picture of the inconspicuous hiding spot in the Family Lockdown Tips and Idea group on Facebook, where other parents praised her for sharing the 'game changing' tip.

The image shows a container from ASDA which holds 6 large eggs - or thanks to Jenny, two Dairy Milk chocolate bars.

She wrote: "Another lockdown means my number 1 parenting tip is coming back out.

"How to hide chocolate from the kids and partner!"

Since being posted, it has received 5,200 likes and over 300 comments from fellow parents praising her savvy idea.

One said: "Sheer brilliance."

Another added: "This is a game changer!!! I will definitely be doing this!!"

"This is pure genius!! You should run for parliament," penned a third.

And a fourth said: "Yes! My daughter hates eggs so this is a brill hack for me!"

But it seems Jenny isn't the only parent with a unique hiding spot as several other users revealed where they hide their sweet treats.

One said: "The cleaning cupboard sadly works well too!!!"

Another added: "I hide mine in my teabag boxes lol."

A third wrote: "Mines at the back of the salad drawer in the fridge."
