Mum gobsmacked when she discovered what her teenage son was hiding under his bed

Parents know that with children often comes messy bedrooms.

The type of mess can evolve as they grow, from being little, covered in crayons and mud to the teenage years where the carpet can often turn into a floordrobe.

But if bundles of clothes on the floor isn't your kid's thing, it might be time to worry where the teenager hides their mess.

One mum was horrified to discover what her son was hiding under his bed and shared the disgusting find on TikTok.

Amanda Nightbert, from Lexington, Kentucky in the US, recently went. viral on social media after unveiling what was hiding down the side of her son's bed, The Mirror reports.

Taking to TikTok, under the name @amandanighbertrd, Amanda shared the shocking clip of what she found when she was rearranging his room and moved the bed away from the wall.

She captioned the video, writing: "When is the last time you cleaned under your teenager's bed?!!"

In the clip, her jaw drops in shock as she uncovers the mess which stretches the length of the double bed.

The floor is swamped in empty crisp packets and sweet wrappers, used paper plates, carrier bags, broken pens and empty drink bottles.

A couple of different family members come and check out the mess and all look equally as shocked.

The end of the video shows her son cleaning up down the side of the bed, before hoovering away all evidence that it ever existed.

The mum's video has since been viewed over 17 million times and garnered more than one million likes.

Thousands of people also commented on the post to share their thoughts.

One person said: "Honestly thank goodness you don't have bugs or something else from that."

Another replied: "OMG!"

A third wrote: "My mom would have literally killed me if my room was like that."

While someone else admitted: "Still not as bad as I was thinking it would be."

A different user added: "This is AWFUL!"
