Mum gives her son's bedroom a makeover with giant shark head on wall

We're going to need a bigger bed.

A Welsh mum has given her son’s bedroom a jaw-some makeover, with a giant shark head on the wall. Sharnene Jewell spent a week on the project which cost a total of £500. The centre-piece, fibreglass great white head cost just £25 from eBay.

The 45-year-old posted snaps of the wacky bedroom on Facebook and it went viral with over 28,000 likes and comments. She admitted it wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea but most importantly Morgan, 17, likes it.

Sharnene, of Cardiff, said: “We bought the shark from a seller on eBay. His bedroom has been lots of colours and has changed many times but the shark is one of his favourite things. The paint effect took a couple of days. My husband and I made the wardrobes and desk. We made them at different times, we did the wardrobes first.

"They also took a few days and then the desk in about a day, in total about a week, but not all in one go. It’s not going to be to everyone's taste, but at least he liked it.”

And people on social media loved it too. Alex Blainey made reference to the Jaws movies and joked: “You're gonna need a bigger bed.”

Sandra Iner added: “My son said he wants the same bedroom" and Sharon Mitchell said: “That is awesome.”

Nicole Walker added: “Personally I wouldn't want it in my house but it's absolutely fantastic” and Mandi King said: “I would never sleep again, it’s bloody terrifying.”
