Mum furious after 'petty' note from neighbour compares garden to 'junk yard'

A mum was left reeling after a note from her neighbour compared her garden to a 'junk yard'.

Georgia Washy hit out online after receiving the 'petty' note as she was accused of ruining the road outside her home due to the mess created by a trailer in her garden.

Georgia, from New Holland, Lincolnshire, was told her front garden is like "Steptoe's Yard," an insult referring to a BBC sitcom about a father and son rag-and-bone team who struggle to meet ends meet and have a yard full of furniture, tyres and scrap metal.

As the Mirror reports, the note Georgia received from a disgruntled neighbour read: ""How much longer do we have to look across at your Steptoe's yard on the front of your house, this use[d] to be such a nice road."

Georgia, who works full time and has a baby, explained that her trailer was recently moved to the garden as her horses were on land that wasn't safe for them.

Ms Washy wrote: "To the absolutely numpty in New Holland that left this with no indication of where they are from... knocked on doors with no response.

"IF you're regarding to the trailer in the front with bits and bobs in, I had to move my horses literally OVERNIGHT because they were on land that essentially was poisoning them and if they'd have stayed longer perhaps died.

"The things in the trailer are my horses belongings. I've only found them a place to settle this Saturday just gone."

Adding that she is busy with her work and her life as a mum, she added: "I work full time and have a baby, I can't work any more of a miracle than I do.

"Maybe consider that people have things going on before leaving anonymous, passive aggressive messages.

"Oh and if there's a problem, MOVE HOUSE. Or get a grip and talk to me face to face."

Several people in the group shared the woman's outrage, with one branding the neighbour who left the note "rude".

A person commented: "Don't explain yourself. This says more about them then it does about you. Leaving a note asking if you needed any help with anything could have been more helpful maybe."

Another group member added: "Clue is in the 'Steptoe's Yard'.... it's an older generation saying."
