Mum fuming after husband lets 24-year-old babysitter use their shower

A woman has been left appalled after her babysitter used her shower without permission.

Her and her husband had hired the 24-year-old to look after their two young children while both parents worked. But one day, upon arriving home, she found out her husband hadn't been at work that day - and the babysitter had "wet hair and was wearing different clothes".

Taking to Reddit, she explained her fury after being told the babysitter apparently had milk spilled all over her by one of the children, the Mirror reports.

She said: "He told me she took a shower after one of the kids spilled milk on her. I was confused and visibly upset but she tried to 'reassure' me the kids were fine because my husband watched them while she took her shower which only lasted for a few minutes."

But when she asked her husband what his opinion was, he didn't seem to think there was any issue.

"He said it was not as big of a deal as I was making it out to be," she added.

"I told the babysitter that I did not appreciate how she basically ignored how I felt about this and dismissed my feelings still.

"She thinks she's done nothing wrong and said I was being unfair when I mentioned potentially cutting her salary after that."

The mum was then accused of overreacting by her husband, who thought it was wrong that the "poor girl" should have to continue working with milk all over her clothes.

But, standing her ground, she insisted it was "inappropriate" and expected the babysitter to check with her first before jumping in the shower.

While some people in the comments agreed the babysitter should have waited until she got home to clean up, others thought that someone using the woman's shower was the least of her problems.

One said: "Are you really just concerned about a quick shower and some spilt milk? Or do you feel there may be something else that's up and you don't want to acknowledge it?"

While another agreed, saying: "You're suspicious about your husband and taking it out on a babysitter. Why should she check with you when your husband said it was ok? She should quit."

And another mused: "The real question is, why didn’t your husband just say she could go home when he was home and watch his own kids instead of paying her to do it?"
