Tributes to mum who spent decades fighting for justice for murdered son
Touching tributes have been paid to a much-loved mum who spent decades battling for justice.
Barbara Greenwood fought for 41 years for answers over the death of son John, one of two schoolboys murdered in a tragedy that shocked the country.
Her family today said they would continue that campaign in her memory and that they took comfort from the thought of her now being reunited with the son who was taken from her.

Her world was ripped apart when, on August 16, 1980, her son John Greenwood was discovered beaten and hidden on a tip in Whiston alongside his friend Gary Miller.
Both boys, aged just 11, died as a result of their injuries.

Derelict house of horrors where little boy was 'abused by step dad'
A little boy was rescued from a derelict house of horrors after his mum told a health worker she believed her husband was sexually abusing him.
The seven-year-old, referred to as 'K' in court documents, had moved to the UK from a nation in Africa and was living with his mum and step-dad in the Warrington area when his living situation came to light.
It later emerged the mum had suspected the abuse for around two weeks and told detectives she planned to "hide in a cupboard" to secretly film her partner in the act.

The Family Court, sitting at the Royal Courts of Justice in London, recently ruled on an application by Warrington Borough Council to accept that the British courts had jurisdiction of the case.
Lawyers for the step-dad, who denies sexual abuse, had argued that both K and his mum had overstayed their Visas and should be under the jurisdiction of the legal system in their native country.

Man dies after being hit by car on busy road
A man in his 50s has died after being hit by a car on a busy Liverpool road.
Police rushed to the scene of Stopgate Lane in Norris Green at around 5.10pm on Wednesday, Novemeber 10 following reports of a man being hit by a car.
Once at the scene officers found the man had been hit by a silver Ford Focus on Walton Hall Avenue.

The man was rushed to hospital for his injuries but died a short time later.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with enquiries.
