Mum finds 'human poo' outside home - told by council it could take THREE WEEKS to clean

A mum was horrified after her children found 'human poo' outside their home and says the council told her it could take three weeks to clean up.

The resident woke up on Wednesday morning to discover what appeared to be human excrement and a pair of blue underpants outside her house in Lock Lane, Bolton.

The mum, who asked not to be named, says she was first alerted by her children who were in their playroom when they noticed the mess outside.

She said: "We live on a country lane, so it’s not what we’re used to!

"Our children were concerned about what the litter was initially, as it looks like baby wipes. They know from school they aren’t recyclable and worry about the animals at the local farm and the impact on the environment."

When the concerned mum investigated, she found the waste 'scattered into the road'. The excrement was left right beside a football field used for children's matches.

She said: " We were angry, as right outside our house and driveway. In the window view of the children’s playroom, but also it’s a prime route for dog walkers and children."

But when the resident called Bolton Council to arrange a clean up, she says she was told it would be dealt with as fly-tipping and it could be three-weeks before cleaners tackled the mess.

Facing weeks of waiting, the family said they would be forced to pay out of their own pocket to have the poo cleaned if nothing happened.

The woman complained to her local councillor and on Thursday afternoon, a team arrived to clean the scene.

A spokesperson for Bolton Council said: “Our team has visited Lock Lane today to clean the area and remove any waste items.

“We aim to remove any items left in public spaces as quickly as possible.

“In cases where the waste is potentially hazardous, the health and safety of the public is our top priority.”
