A sick mum filmed herself slapping her toddler daughter so she could torment the girl's father who is in prison, it is claimed.
Ximena Carolina Tapia Quintana was arrested after she sent the horrific footage to her ex, who then posted it online to shame her.
In the disgusting footage, the mother is seen slapping the tot before pulling the young girl’s hair.
She can be heard saying: “Look what I am doing to your daughter, because I do not love her.”
According to reports, the 38-year-old mother has been arrested in the commune of Maipu in the central Chile.
Police captain Jorge Mancilla said the mother was arrested and later released, but will have to go back to the police station in a couple of days.
Meanwhile, a family court ruled that the young girl, aged two years and nine months, will live with her paternal grandmother.
Chilean Minister of Justice and Human Rights Hernan Larrain said that “the reaction [to the video] has been widely condemned” and that “we are living in a period with a lot of social violence”.
The investigation is ongoing.
