Mum fights off intruder as he breaks into her home while she films twerk video

A mum inadvertently filmed herself fighting off a home intruder while recording a dance class video.

Angela Goncalves was twerking to camera in her living room with music blaring when a man appeared in the garden behind her and tried to creep through the open glass doors.

On suddenly noticing him as he got within inches of her, the feisty nursing technician initially laughs before he reaches out to grab her.

At which point she shrieks and slaps out at him before he flees back through the garden.

The footage shows Angela, from Paranagua, Brazil, continue to lash out at the man with kicks as he runs for the gate during the incident on February 17.

A voice from inside the room can be heard saying "crazy" before another female appears on the camera and walks out into the garden as the clip finishes.

Angela shared the video to Facebook on Sunday and explained in her post that she tried to act naturally initially to defuse the situation, but didn't know the intruder.

"I get scared and act naturally as if I knew him until he reacts with the intentions of grabbing me," she wrote.

"On that, with my docile pitbull instinct, I beat the hell out of him."

She added: "The glass door is partially closed for those who pass on the street without having a clear view from the inside."

The clip has been shared more than 1.4million times on the social media site.

Angela later told local media she was with her young daughter at the time.

"I was with my 11-year-old daughter when he came in. I attacked him with a thousand different things in my mind about what could happen," she said.

The mum filed a report at Paranaguá civil police station and went around her neighbourhood asking if anyone knew the man.

"No one has seen him around here before," she said.

Angela now plans to reinforce the gate for extra security.
