Mum encouraged to rethink 'awful' baby name that sounds better suited for a 'dog'

Choosing a name for your child is probably one of the hardest decisions you'll ever have to make. While parents may struggle to both agree on a moniker of choice, some people may find that one name may simply stick more than others.

Taking to popular forum Mumsnet, a pregnant woman has admitted that she and her partner have grown fond of one name in particular. Since sharing the name online, however, people have admitted that they're not keen on the moniker.

Encouraging the mum-to-be to rethink the name, people have claimed that the choice sounds better suited for an animal.

Captioning the post, she wrote: "Baby boy name Zeppelin."

The woman explained: "First baby, don't know the gender yet but feeling boy vibes.

"Both my partner and I love the name Zeppelin for a boy.
It would be Zeppelin Jones, which I think has a great ring to it. Haven't thought of a middle name yet.

"I'd like people's opinions, I am a little concerned it might get mixed reactions."

Since sharing, the mum-to-be's choice of baby name has raked in a wide selection of opinions.

While some people have claimed to 'loving' the name Zeppelin, others apologised after admitting that the name sounds 'awful'.

Flocking to the comment section, one person wrote: "Heard worse, Zep is a cool nickname."

A second agreed: "I like it. It's a bit TikTok generation for me (I am old) but I've heard worse and the overall vibe is cool and edgy which I assume is what you are going for."

Meanwhile, a third penned: "I personally love it."

On the other hand, a Mumsnet user said: "Lovely name ..... for a pet."

"God no! It isn't a name and is very try hard. I would think if someone called their dog this they were desperate to be seen as cool and edgy let alone their kid," a second agreed.

A third apologised: "I think it's awful, sorry."

A different user added: "I think it awful. Imagining him at secondary school, I don't think he'll thank you for it. Sorry."
