Mum 'elated' after safe return of French Bulldog stolen by daylight burglars

A mum said she is "absolutely elated" after her stolen French Bulldog was returned to her safe and well.

Kim Navis was at home in Wirral on Monday when thieves broke in and stole her 13-month-old pup Isla.

The devastated mum told how she first noticed her Nissan Juke was missing from outside her house, which she shares with her 11-year-old son.

However after going downstairs to investigate, she found to her horror her beloved pet dog had also been stolen .

Following the theft Kim contacted Merseyside Police and alongside friends and family an online campaign to get Isla home was launched.

And today Kim said she is "absolutely elated and overwhelmed" after the power of social media reunited her with her lost pooch.

Kim, who also has two other French Bulldogs Isla's mum Roxy and Dennis, said: "I can't believe it.

"I kept waking up last night panicking and then remembering she was home.

"She slept on my bed next to me all night.

"Roxy licked the life out of her when she saw her it was so cute, as did Dennis.

"It was like long lost families in here last night."

Kim said Isla was returned last night, at around 9pm, after someone, who had seen the online campaign for her return, was offered a dog of Isla's description and made contact with the family.

The mum-of-one, from Hoylake added: "She stank of smoke when I got her back and I don't think she had been fed or watered because she couldn't stop drinking.

"But today she is right as rain.

"My son is over the moon, he started crying when we got her back."

Merseyside Police confirmed they had been updated. However enquiries regarding the theft of the car were still on going.

Kim added: "The car is just a piece of metal that can be replaced.

"I could never have replaced Isla.

"I am just so overwhelmed with how supportive everyone has been.

"I am still in a bit of a daze with it all.

"I can't thank everyone enough for their help."
