A mum has split opinion after admitting to bathing in Dettol to "stay fresh"
Laura Nicholls posted her bizarre beauty routine on Facebook - and was inundated with comments from people aghast at her strange choice of bubble bath.
The 33-year-old made the comment on the page Mrs Hinch Made Me Do It, saying: "Does anyone else bath in Dettol? Makes u feel so fresh I love it Lol.
"It cleans grazes and it's really refreshing - I love a Dettol bath - you won't beat it."".
Laura, from Bridgend in Wales, then confessed she also bathes her eight-year-old son in the disinfectant "if he's been out playing and gets filthy, or grazes his knees and elbows."
But her cleaning tip did not go down well will everyone.
One member of the page said: "Wouldn’t like to bath in Dettol who would want to smell off Dettol certainly not me I use it on my floors."
Another said: ""Twenty-seven years on this earth and I have never heard of people bathing in Dettol - is this actually a thing?"
Other mums said they would be concerned about the safety of bathing in Dettol, but the company's website said the antiseptic is perfectly safe for bathing, as long as it' dilluted.
It can also be used to treat pimples and dandruff, cuts, grazes, bites and stings.
But it wasn't all criticism, lots of mums agreed with Laura's tip.
One member said: "Always love a bath in Dettol have done since I was a waine."
Another added: "Absolutely nothing wrong with a Dettol bath. Mam bathed me and my three brothers in it especially when there were bugs etc going around we were never I'll at all. Smells amazing too."
One mum said she had been bathing in Dettol for decades: "Dettol baths have been in my family since the 1980’s nothing unusual to us and we all like the smell too!"
