Mum died in teenage daughter's arms after losing long battle with breast cancer

A mother has paid tribute to her "outgoing" and "bubbly" 34-year-old daughter who died after a long battle with breast cancer.

Linzi Dyer was first diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 17 and the cancer then returned at the age of 27.

On November 25, surrounded by her family the 34-year-old mum-of four died in her daughter's arms at Singleton Hospital.

Paying tribute to her daughter, mother Donna, 54, who lives in Penlan , Swansea, said a young girl should not have to go through that trauma.

"At the age of 17 she was diagnosed with breast cancer. It came back at the age of 27, on the other breast.

"Three years ago it came back onto the bone marrow and then it spread to the cirrhosis of the liver."

Referring to her daughter's personality, she added: "She was outgoing, bubbly and would help anyone, she loved life and lived it to the full. It's affected all of her family, we are all in bits."

Linzi was a mum to four children aged 17, 13, 10 and six.

Donna added: "We are a close family and we will make sure that they will be fine. They are in shock but they are trying to accept it.

"The cancer was always under control, only in the last week did we see her deteriorate. She would always say that she was all right and she would treat it like it was just a cold.

"It was a blessing she went when she did as she looked so peaceful. I didn't want her suffering anymore.

"In hospital she would be helping the other patients. She put so many other cancer patients at ease, she gave them hope."

Linzi's friends are now selling bows to place on cars to try and raise money for her children. Donna said everyone had been amazing and she was thankful for everyone's support.

"I am touched by all the support. Her best friend Sean Philips has supported her through it all and he has been amazing, he's a diamond.

"Debbie Donohoe also put on a Full Monty show for breast cancer awareness which Linzi took part in last month. Debbie has kindly donated the money raised to Linzi’s children.

"I would also like to thank her doctor Mark Davies and her breast cancer nurse Anne Baker for the tremendous support."
