Mum desperate to find son who has been missing for nearly a month

The family of a man who hasn't been seen for nearly a month are desperate to know he's safe.

John Dickens, 47, who is known as John John, hasn't been seen since February 13.

His mum, Ada Dickens, 69, last saw her son a few days earlier on Tuesday, February 9.

Ada said: "He'd drawn his money on London Road and said, 'here mam, here's £25. I still owe you £20 and I'll give you that in my next payment.'

"He usually comes back the same day but he didn't."

However, this wasn't the last time John was seen as he is known to have visited the YMCA on Leeds Street in Liverpool a few days later on Saturday, February 13.

Ada said that nobody has seen her son since.

John had recently got a new flat on Netherfield Road in Everton just before Christmas.

His dad visited the flat a few days after he was last seen to help him decorate it but John wasn't there. They left a note for him to get in contact.

It's understood that John has not collected his diabetic medication or drawn any money out of his account since he went missing.

A few weeks before he was seen, Ada said her son was thought to be frequenting the County Road area and was also the area around the Mere Bank pub on Heyworth Street in Everton.

John is also a grandad and his parents, children and grandchildren are desperate to know his whereabouts.

He's described as being around 5ft 10in tall with closely cropped brown hair and a scar on his right brow.

Ada said the last time he was seen he was wearing black jeans and a black coat which had a white stripe up the sleeves.

Anyone who has seen John or knows where he is can contact police via 101, on their social media desk @MerPolCC on Twitter or 'Merseyside Police Contact Centre' on Facebook, or the charity Missing People on 116 000.
