Mum creates new system to get kids to do chores - and parents love it

Sometimes trying to get your young ones to do their chores can be a pain.

If you've tried everything possible to try and get them to clean up then one mum's idea might be extremely helpful.

According to the Mirror , the mum-of-three has found a hack to encourage her two sons and daughter to help with tasks like cleaning their rooms and hoovering, but also to follow her rules on behaviour.

In a post on Facebook , she shared her system requiring her children to earn tokens to exchange for special rewards.

With a whiteboard setting out the house rules and chores, there's also a section for each child with what they have achieved that week.

Each task or good behaviour earns her children tokens made from laminated happy faces, which are placed in adorable personalised buckets attached to the board.

She wrote: "Full-time work and being mum to my beautiful three little ones Mr 7, Mr 5 and Miss 2 is busy and need all the help we can get.

"Aim is to work towards a number of tokens that they put in the buckets and trade-in for something they would really like."

When they collect enough tokens, they can be cashed in for outings to the movies, dinner, one-on-one time, extended bedtime, screen time or something from the shops.

The board shows that two children had already helped out their mum cleaning rooms, putting in bin liners and getting off the iPad when asked.

It sets out which areas of the house the boys will be responsible for but it appears that the two-year-old girl is exempt from the dirty work for now.

The trio can also earn tokens for behaving well, such as keeping their hands to themselves, using nice words and doing as they are told.

Other parents loved the system, with one commenting: "Love this! I love how you put a visual to bucket-filling!"

Another said: "This is so thoughtful and cute! Great job, mummy!"
