Mum cooks Christmas dinner for family 2 months early just in case and it only cost £10

A mum from Chester has made her family a full Christmas dinner already, after worries they might miss out on December 25.

More impressively, Karen Rhodes managed to serve up a  full spread - including everything from from pigs in blankets to sprouts - for less than a tenner.

Posting on the the Facebook group  Family Lockdown Tips & Ideas, Karen wrote said: “I’ve seen a lot of posts about Christmas dinner and not wanting to spend all day in the kitchen and there have been lots of useful tips.

“We decided to have 'Christmas dinner' today because, why not?

“Less than 10 minutes to prepare, an hour to cook, with minimal work.”

And a lot of people were seriously impressed with her plan to make the meal now rather than spending hours in the kitchen on the day.

One replies: “Yumyum! I would rather spend time with the kiddies playing with pressies too then spending hours in the kitchen xxx.”

Another added: “I prepare it all the night before then just pop it in the oven in the morning x”

Christmas food has been appearing in supermarkets for the past few weeks letting people get supplies in early.

And there's more variety than ever before - with everything from vegan Christmas dinner boxes to giant Ferrero Rocher-inspired desserts.

For people looking to be a bit different, there are even two-metre long pigs in blankets and Percy Pig mince pies available ensuring that this year there should be something for everyone.
