Mum convinced she captured UFO on camera – but others say it’s a plastic bag

There have been countless tales of UFOs flying through the sky, and while many of them get explained away, some people remain convinced there’s life on other planets – and that aliens are trying to visit us.

That’s what Shaneika Joyner and her six-year-old daughter India believe, after they spotted a strange object in the sky while waiting at traffic lights on Highway 52 in Goose Creek, South Carolina, USA.

Shaneika filmed the sighting on July 1, and the video clip shows a dark object floating in the sky before it appeared to twist while in mid-air, and disappeared behind trees a few seconds later.

Her daughter said in the video: “Oh my god, is something in there? Is it a ship?”

The 41-year-old mum later explained she was left “in awe” by the object, and denied the possibility of it simply being a plastic bag that got caught in the wind.

She said: “I had absolutely no idea what it was. India asked if it was a ship when she first saw it fly past.

"It was going fast but it slowed down enough for me to record it. It looked like it spun a little when it got by the trees.

"It happened just around 10 am and the object was around for less than one minute. There was another one but I couldn't keep my eyes on them both at the same time.

"In my 41 years on this planet, I have never seen anything like it before. I was in awe.

"At first I thought it may have been a plastic bag but I was like that's too fast and too high.

"Some people have said it's a balloon or a trash bag. However, some have said they believe it's a cloaked ship."

Shaneika’s sighting divided opinion when she uploaded it online, with several commenters casting their doubts over her footage.

One wrote: "Lower atmospheric cloud caught in a back-wind?"

While another said: "That's a damn plastic bag."

And a third backed that claim, writing: "A white trash bag lol."

However, others seemed to defend the mum, stating the object could have been something that used cloaking technology to hide.

One person said: "Drone with cloaking tech."
