A mum has spoken of her horror after a man knocked on her front door with what appeared to be a double-barrelled shotgun in his backpack.
Edwina Lloyd said she was stunned into silence after opening her door to the man, aged in his 50s, at her Emlyn Road home in Mayhill, Swansea, at around 1.15pm on Tuesday, June 15.
She said that when he initially knocked, he started asking about a bike and she told him it belonged to her son. It was when he turned around that she noticed the suspected weapon.

Immediately she tried to alert one of her neighbours and she also contacted the police. South Wales Police have said they are investigating.
She said: “He knocked my door and I could see him in my camera and I said ‘Who is it?’. He said, ‘hello, hello’ and then he said ‘bike, bike.’
“I said it was my son’s bike and he turned around and in the rucksack I could see the double-barrelled shotgun facing me. It was frightening. When I saw what was in his rucksack I thought 'oh my God.’ I kept silent because I was in shock.”
She described the man as having a foreign accent and wearing a black beanie hat along with a dark T-shirt and dark clothes. Read our report of life in Mayhill, the scene of a riot last month, here.

“I tried to call my neighbour on messenger and she wasn’t answering but I got hold of her later. The police took my statement. I don’t know where he went next, he could have gone down the next street. If anyone has any cameras around the Mayhill area please ring the police.”
A South Wales Police spokeswoman said: “South Wales Police were called around 1.15pm yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, June 15, following reports of a man attending an address on Emlyn Road, Mayhill, and enquiring about a bike that was in the garden. The man was not threatening and left the address. Whilst leaving the homeowner noticed what they believed to be some sort of firearm in the man’s rucksack.
“Enquiries are continuing.”
