Mum confirms reason she removes all Christmas decorations at 11pm on December 25

A kind-hearted mum has confirmed why she removes all her decorations at 11pm on Christmas Day.

Georgia Schofield carries out the same ritual on December 25 each year for a very important reason.

The TikTok parent takes down her festive tree, lights and stockings at 11pm, just hours after polishing off her Christmas dinner, reports the Mirror.

In a viral video, she explained the reason why she removes all trace of Christmas so soon is for her daughter.

Posting under the name @bruh.georgia, she said: "When your daughter’s birthday is December 26. Time to get on with the birthday decorating."

Another video on Boxing Day shows the mum setting up a birthday buffet with banners, balloons and a cake for the tot.

Thousands of people took to social media to praise the mum for her "wonderful" efforts.

One person said: "I love this, think it’s really thoughtful that you bring Christmas celebrations to an end to celebrate her birthday.

Another commented: "This is so lovely that you are making your child’s birthday about her and not Christmas. I personally love it."

Another joked: "Should keep tree decorate with birthday banners instead."

Some parents related to the mum's commitment and told how they also took down the Christmas decorations before their children's December birthdays.

While others questioned the move.

One person said: "Whyyyyyyyyy did you take the tree down? I would've loved for it to stay up."

Another added: "I would want my birthday with the Christmas tree up."

Following her video, Georgia addressed the queries in a later post.

She said: "If my birthday was the day after Christmas, I could think of nothing worse than having the tree up.

"That's why I take it down just to try and make it as normal as possible for her.

"Christmas and then birthday the day after is too close so it's just our own family tradition to take the tree down Christmas night ready for her birthday tomorrow."
