Mum charged with murder of her three children Conor, Darragh and Carla McGinley too ill to attend court

A mother charged with the murder of her three children was too ill to attend court today.

Deirdre Morley, 43, of Parson’s Court, Newcastle, south west Dublin is charged with three counts of murder at her home on Friday, January 25, 2020.

The bodies of Conor, 9, Darragh, 7, and Carla, 3, McGinley were discovered in their home at Parson’s Court in Newcastle just before 8pm on January 25th.

Ms Morley, a nurse at Crumlin Children's Hospital, was due to appear at Dublin District Court in the Criminal Courts of Justice on Parkgate Street.

But when the case was called the Court Sergeant handed Judge Ann Ryan a sick note from the prison service indicating Ms Morley was unable to attend.

Judge Ryan remanded Ms Morley in continued custody until her next appearance at same court on March 4th.

Her solicitor Jonathan Dunphy asked  the  judge that Ms Morley continue to receive psychiatric care and medical treatment while in custody.

Judge Ryan granted the application.
