Mum can't watch video of son, 14, being bullied as 'it breaks her heart just thinking of it'

The mum of a teenager filmed being 'bullied' at a Metro station claims she can't watch the clip, claiming: "It breaks my heart just thinking of it".

Police are investigating starting on the terrified 14-year-old at South Shields station.

The boy is hauled around by the youths - thought to be a few years older - as he pleas for them to stop.

Now the victim's parents claim the unprovoked attack has left the lad suffering from nightmares - while revealing they confronted the culprits' parents in person.

"I spoke to one of their mothers and she even said it was disgusting," claimed the mum of the boy, whose identity ChronicleLive will protect.

"She was gutted about what had happened, but if that was my son who was responsible I'd take his head off and I'd drag him by the scruff of his neck to the victim's house and get him to apologise and find a way - any way - of trying to make it better."

She claims her son has had no such apology. Instead, he's been left "traumatised" by the events of December 30.

"The incident took place at about 6.30pm when the victim was targeted by people he did not know in an unprovoked attack," said

Northumbria Police after since-deleted footage of the clip, which was shared thousands of times on Facebook.

The force has confirmed it is still investigating the attack. While nobody has been interviewed yet police have received the names "of a number of people" they wish to speak with.

However the victim's dad has said his son's ordeal was made even worse by the cruelty of what unfolded off-camera.

The youngster, who was simply returning from a bike ride at the beach, has a chest condition which may mean he needs an operation.

"He has a serious chest condition which means he can't do contact sports, but he had to show them his chest just to get them to stop," claimed the dad.

"It was awful what they did to him. Now he is only just starting to get out a bit after all of this but he has been left shaken by it all."

Almost two weeks after the incident, his parents have spoken out in the hope they can keep the case in the spotlight and get justice for their boy.

"The lot who did this are just bullies," raged his mum.

"And I couldn't even watch the clip myself, how could I? That is my bairn, and you never expect your kids to have to go through something like that and it just breaks my heart thinking about it.

"What they've done has knocked his confidence, and left him traumatised and he's had nightmares.

"But I've told the police that I'm not leaving it - I want this to go as far as it can."
