Mum can't get cheese grater to work - and leaves people howling at 'too funny' blunder

A mum recently ran into a few difficulties with her new cheese grater, and her 'too funny' blunder left people in stitches. The initially frustrated mother, whose name is Joyce, just couldn't understand why she couldn't grate cheese and so decided to show her new appliance to her son, to see if he could unravel the mystery.

Hilariously, it quickly emerged Joyce had been trying to grate the cheese while the grater was still in its wrapping, meaning she was essentially just rubbing the block against its protective plastic. After 'moaning' to her son that it simply wasn't working, he couldn't help but laugh at her antics, sharing footage of the supposedly faulty grater with his TikTok followers.

The highly amused son, who goes by the TikTok username @grumsterr, captioned his post, 'Joycey needs specks', uploading footage of him teasing his confused mum over her blunder. In the clip, Joyce can be heard pointing out the ridges on the grater, apparently still perplexed as to why it wasn't working.

Her son chuckled: "I'm taking a video so that everyone knows what you've been doing. Mum's moaning because the cheese isn't grating. Do you know what's wrong with this? It's still got the cellophane wrapper on it, look!"

Even as her son explained what the matter was, Joyce continued to protest in vain, insisting the wrapper hadn't been on last time. This excuse elicited an exasperated 'honest to God!' from her son, further delighting his cackling followers.

One person giggled: "I thought it was just my mum who can never admit she's wrong, 'it didn't the last time'."

Another guffawed: "Hahahaha the wrapper magically went back on itself."

A number of others admitted they were 'just as bad as she is', confessing they'd just assumed the issue was that she'd been grating a block of butter, not cheese.

A third person wrote: "Not me thinking she tried to grate a block of butter. I need new specks."
