Mum begs police to find drug dealer after boy, 13, 'died after taking ecstasy'

A mother has begged police to find the drug dealer who gave ecstasy to her her 13-year-old son after he was found dead in a park.

Carson Price, 13, was playing in a park on Friday night when he collapsed and turned blue in the face after swallowing the tablet.

Dog walkers tried to revive him and officers from a police station just 300 yards away ran to help.

Carson was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His mother Tatum Price posted a message on a police Facebook page saying: "Please find out who sold these drugs to my son - my life is ruined."

A friend who laid flowers at the scene said: "We were all out together after breaking up for the school holidays.

"I knew Carson had some tablets when we were with him in the park

"We left to go to the shop and one of his friends came running up saying he was having a seizure.

"By the time we got back the ambulance was there but he was dead."

Gwent Police are treating the teenager's death as "unexplained" and are appealing for witnesses.

Carson's mother Tatum Price was too upset to talk at the family's detached three bedroomed home in the village of Hengoed, two miles from where the schoolboy died.

Friends said he's been experimenting with ecstasy drugs for a while and they had tried to stop him.

A girl in tears at the park yesterday said: "He was lovely, very friendly and into his music.

"He was excited at the start of the Easter holidays and having two weeks off school.

Head teacher Chris Parry said: "It's with immense sadness that we have heard the terrible news that one of our pupils has tragically passed away.

"Everyone in our school is shocked and devastated by the loss of one of our own.

"I'm sure everyone in our community will join with us in sharing our deepest sympathies with the pupils's friends and family at this awful time."
