Mum begs missing daughter to get in touch

A mum has made an emotional appeal to her 17-year-old daughter after she went missing on a day trip to Cardiff.

Ellen Webster, from Senghenydd, last saw Carys when she dropped her off outside the Hilton Hotel in the city centre on Friday morning (November 5).

She had been due to collect her at 6.30pm after Carys had spent the day with her boyfriend from London, but her daughter was not at the collection point and she has not seen her since.

Police are helping her with the search, but Ellen is desperate for information and has begged her daughter to get in touch.

"Carys has been going out with her boyfriend for two years, and she always comes home," said Ellen. "We went to collect her on Friday night, but were about 10 minutes late so we thought she had maybe got a taxi home.

"She messaged my niece to say she was getting in a taxi, but the cab waited for 30 minutes and she never turned up. We are desperate to find her."

Ellen says that Carys was wearing a bright pink tracksuit and leggings, and her outfit would make her "noticeable".

Her emotional mum says: "I just want her home, and to know that she is safe. Please, please if anyone has information get in touch."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Gwent Police on 101.
