Mum 'beaten and buried alive' while on holiday blames HERSELF for brutal attack

A woman who was beaten and strangled during an eight-hour ordeal has blamed herself for being "almost killed".

Tammy Lawrence-Daley, 51, of Delaware, US, was left with devastating injuries after being abducted by a stranger while on holiday in the Dominican Republic.

She claims she was "plowed" by a man as she walked to get some food at the Majestic Elegance resort.

The mum was then dragged to an underground basement where her attacker choked her several times and beat her with a club before burying her alive in a "hole".

But following her horrific ordeal, Tammy blamed herself for being targeted.

She told People Magazine : "This is my fault, I got myself into this situation."

She then took to Facebook to say: "I’m at the point where I feel strong enough that I want to get this information out there because women need to understand they can’t walk around by themselves.

"I hate to say that, but it’s the truth. What I went through, I would never wish on anyone."

Tammy had been staying at the resort with her husband Christopher and friends.

She previously posted pictures of her horrific injuries on Facebook. She described the assault in detail in a distressing post.

She said she could hear her attacker's footsteps "get quicker and quicker" and "before I could react I was plowed [sic] into from behind and immediately immobilised".

She continued: "His arms wrapped around me and he started pulling me immediately into an unlocked maintenance room.

"Somehow I survived. Again, I won't go into all of the hell that I went through being basically 'buried' in that hell hole for so many hours.

"I went missing at 10.30pm and was found over eight hrs later. It was hell."

Tammy said she had to have surgery as a result of the attack and is still suffering from nerve damage.

She has slammed Majestic Elegance for not offering to pay her medical bills or even refund her for the holiday.

She said Majestic Elegance argued it was not responsible for her ordeal, despite her claim that the criminal had the resort's logo on his uniform.

The New York Post said Majestic Elegance did not respond to a request for comment.
