Mum attacks woman for playing song Barking by rapper Ramz outside her home

A mum on benefits has been fined almost £600 after attacking a woman playing rap music from a speaker outside her house.

Jessica Nash, 31, was compared to ‘a vicious dog’ as she assaulted Sianna Davies at 9am in Lynwood Park, Brislington, in April.

Video footage played in Bristol Magistrates' Court yesterday, captured the moment Nash became angry at Miss Davies.

She is heard telling the victim to turn down the music - however was met by replies of ‘I can have my music as loud as I want.’

Nash then hit out at Miss Davies and damaged her phone .

The victim was visiting her sister, who is Nash’s neighbour, and playing Ramz rap hit Barking on her speaker at the time of the attack, Bristol Live reported.

In her statement, Miss Davies said: “Since I have been viciously assaulted I have been unable to sleep at night.

“My daughters are worried to be without me for a second. Both my daughters are petrified [Nash] is going to hurt me again. It has had a detrimental effect on my whole family.

“I have recurring thoughts and visions which make me very anxious.

“People that hurt people are the lowest of the low. It was a horrendous attack.”

Katherine Sproson, mitigating, told the court the defendant had learned of the death of her grandfather on the morning of the incident.

She added: “Miss Davies was blaring out music at 9am, and it was obviously very antagonistic.

“Miss Nash is obviously sorry for what she has done, but there was a lot of provocation from Miss Davies.”

District Judge Lynne Matthews ordered Nash, who is on benefits, to pay £598, including £200 of compensation to the victim.
