A mother has been charged with the murder of her three children, whose bodies were discovered in their home last week.
Conor (9), Darragh (7) and little sister Carla McGinley (3) were found in their home at Parson’s Court, Newcastle, Co Dublin, last Friday evening.
The children’s mother Deirdre Morley with an address at Parsons Court, Newcastle, Co Dublin appeared at a court sitting this afternoon before Judge Paula Murphy.
She was charged with three counts of murder on Friday January 24th, at the same address.
She had been arrested on Tuesday evening and brought to Clondalkin Garda Station.
She was brought to court shortly after 4.30pm today.
Detective Sgt Garda Dara Kenny told the court Ms Morley made no reply when charged at the station today.
Dressed in a green cardigan and blue dress, the 43-year-old accused did not speak during the hearing.
Solicitor Jonathan Dunphy asked Judge Paula Murphy that his client undergo psychiatric treatment and assessment in custody.
The hearing lasted just three minutes.
Judge Murphy remanded the accused in custody to appear at the court 2 of the Criminal Court of Justice next Wednesday, February 5th.
She ordered that Ms Morley receive treatment and undergo continuing psychiatric assessment.
