Mum appalled as shop sends her savage message when she tries to buy a pram

Buying things on Facebook marketplace really can be a minefield, but one mum got more than she bargained for when she was called an incredibly offensive name - just for enquiring about a pram.

Parents will understand that buying a pram isn't as simple as it sounds. There are so many different styles to choose from, and sometimes you just need a helping hand in choosing.

They certainly don't come cheap either, and that's why the mum, who chose to remain anonymous, wanted to take her time choosing - ensuring she was getting the right one to suit her and her baby.

So when this new mum was trying to make a decision, she didn't think twice about messaging a local family-run baby shop for some advice, as sometimes we all need a helping hand.

The mum was horrified at the response she received (Facebook)

However, the shocking response she got from a member of staff made her regret her decision.

As 7News reports, the anonymous mum contacted the shop to ask about a particular pram, and she also enquired about whether she could buy it without the bassinet.

A few hours later, the woman received a response from the store - and the conversation started pleasantly.

They then replied: "Unfortunately, the V2 [pram] is sold with the bassinet and the colour mentioned is exclusive to [another store]."

But rather than just leaving it there, they signed off with: "You dumb c***."

Sharing a screenshot of the messages on a Facebook group, the mum said the "unacceptable" message left her in "complete shock."

She decided to make a formal complaint, and then the business issued a statement confirming that the person responsible for the savage message had been fired.

They wrote: "To all our customers, [we] sincerely apologise for the recent social media behaviour of an employee. We understand that the impact was offensive and inappropriate and never should have happened.

"We are deeply disappointed and consider that this is a one-off event that does not reflect the culture of the staff or the business.

"We are fully committed to improving our performance throughout our store and turning this incident into an improved customer experience for all our customers.

“The employee in question is no longer employed."
