Mum and young daughter flee upstairs after masked men break into Belfast home

A woman has been left "badly shaken" after five masked men entered her home in North Belfast on Thursday.

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following the report of the aggravated burglary at a property in Glencairn Way on February 24.

Detective Sergeant McCartan said: “It was reported at 9.40pm that a group of five masked men had gained entry to the rear of the property while the female victim had been at home with her young daughter and partner. The victim ran upstairs with her daughter as one of the suspects took her phone and smashed it.

“Extensive damage was caused to the rear of the property and all windows of a car parked at the front of the house were smashed.

“The suspects ran off in the direction of Forthriver Crescent.

“The victim was left badly shaken as a result of this and thankfully not hurt.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and we would ask anyone with any information or who might have CCTV footage which may assist the investigation to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1827 24/02/22.”
