Mum and daughter 'thrown off plane' after shouting at passengers over seat rules

A mum and daughter were thrown off a plane after a row of the airline's 'pick a seat' policy.

The pair reportedly screamed at other passengers to give up their aisle seats, according to footage from the international flight shared online.

The fellow passenger, who posted a video to her TikTok account, claimed the mum and daughter got on the fully boarded flight despite there being no spare seats left, reports our sister title the Daily Mirror.

She wrote in the caption: "They thought everyone should move so they could have an aisle seat.

"The flight attendant politely asked them that they could not ask a full plane of people to move seats. (It's first come first served.)"

In the video, a crew member is seen talking to them and could be heard saying: "We have families. We have little kids.

"We can’t have people yelling. You are screaming and yelling."

The daughter can then be heard on the video saying, "We'll just go sit down" while sarcastically saying that her mother is "just gonna grab onto you and cry and scream on the plane."

When another flight attendant asks to put them on another plane, the pair walk past them to look for aisle seats.

The Daily Star reports the flight had already been delayed for two hours and passengers had to sit for another hour to wait for airport staff to remove the mum and daughter.

The woman who posted the video onto TikTok wrote: "The flight attendant felt like the passengers weren't safe with that behaviour.

"The whole plane applauded when they were removed."

Southwest Airlines has a "pick a seat" system where they don't assign seats to any passengers but they are put into different "boarding groups" based on the time they checked in on a first-come-first-served basis.
