Mum and daughter charged with murdering teen and ripping baby out of her womb

A mother and daughter have been charged with murdering a pregnant mum and ripping her unborn son out of her womb.

Clarisa Figueroa, 46, and her daughter Desiree, 24, stand accused of committing the horrific crime, while Figueroa's 40-year-old boyfriend, Piotr Bobak, has been charged with concealing the death.

Marlen Ochoa-Lopez, 19, from Chicago, US, died after going to Figueroa's home, in Scottsdale, to buy baby clothes for her unborn son, police say.

Ochoa-Lopez was found in a rubbish bin on Wednesday, with detectives saying she was strangled to death.

Just hours after Ochoa-Lopez was last seen on April 23, Figueroa called 911 for help claiming she had given birth to a boy inside her home.

She told emergency responders she was suffering from “post-delivery issues,” a police source told the Chicago Sun-Times.

DNA tests are thought to have confirmed that the baby in fact belonged to Ochoa-Lopez and her husband.

The baby is in the hospital in “grave condition,” the source said.

The victim's husband Yiovanni Lopez said: “I have a lot of pain, a lot of anguish, a lot of sadness. It’s painful to lose your wife, the woman you love the most. It’s painful.”

Lopez said the perpetrators “don’t know the pain they’ve caused” his family.

“We’re gonna have justice with those responsible,” he told reporters. “We’re gonna go hard after them. We won’t let it go.”

The victim's boy has severe brain damage and is still in hospital, with her family hoping he will recover.
