Mum accidentally terrifies neighbours while driving around to get son to sleep

Every parent knows the drill, either when your child can't sleep - or has finally fallen asleep while you're driving in the car.

When it seems like your child will never sleep again, the old trick of driving around the block comes in handy,

But one mum left people in stitches after her attempts to lull her two-month-old baby aroused a lot of suspicions - and prompted a debate on a local Facebook group.

She shared a video on TikTok showing the screengrabs from concerned residents - and her hilarious gaffe left a lot of fellow parents in stitches.

Mum Katrina, 29, who lives in New Zealand, joked: "When you're trying to get your baby to sleep and your local community group is worried you're scoping the place out."

In the Facebook post, a concerned resident asked: "This car has been circling on Capper Crescent 7 times in the past 10 mins...should I call the police?"

Other concerned neighbours chipped in, as one advised: "You could take your phone and show the people in the car driving past that you are recording them."

"Yes, please. This car was doing the same thing yesterday. Perhaps go out to your letterbox and have a good look at them and get the plate number.

"Cops may as well check them out."

Mortified Karina was forced to chip in, and reassure the neighbours that she was up to no good.

She wrote: "Sorry! No it's me. My 2-month-old fell asleep in the car," before sharing which street she lived on."

Luckily, she didn't take it badly, as she added in the comments: "I'd joked about it but had no idea my area's neighbourhood watch was so active.

"It's reassuring really that people are watching, so funny!"

Viewers were left in stitches, as one fellow parent commented: "I'm sorry, this made me giggle. But yes, I feel you.

"I do the same with my daughter, I drive on the motorway."

One mum added: "Not even joking, this is my biggest fear but I feel you on this."
