A cleaning expert has shared her new favourite way to remove grout and grime from tiles after making an accidental discovery.
Keeping tiled floors spotless is no easy task and usually requires hunkering down and scrubbing by hand, but this latest revelation may let you say goodbye to this time consuming method for good. After a little accident, one woman realised was able clean her tiled floor with no scrubbing required, the Mirror reports.
After spilling some oven degreaser on her floor, American Azure MacCannel discovered that it also makes them spotless and can be simply wiped away. Sharing the tip with a full demonstration on TikTok, viewers said the revelation left them "excited".
Explaining on her account @livecomposed, Azzure explained: "I accidentally spilled this degreaser on my floor and discovered that it cleans my grout without even scrubbing."
Azure filmed herself practicing the cleaning tip, instructing people to simply pour the degreaser on the floor, let it sit for a minute, and then wipe it away easily with a mop - without a scrub in sight.
She mentioned that you do need to dilute the product for other cleaning purposes. Many of her followers were thrilled about her tip, with one stating that she won the cleaning side of TikTok.
Someone commented: "You know you're getting old when get excited about stuff like this."
It makes sense that oven cleaner works wonders at removing tile grout. These degreasers are highly alkaline to remove caked on dirt found in the appliance. These cleaning products contain other dirt blasting ingredients like a petroleum or natural citrus solvent to further break down grease.
