A mum was tragically found dead by her husband and nine-year-old daughter after falling out of bed on New Year's Day.
Michelle Clougherty was discovered by husband Alan who attempted to resuscitate his wife as their daughter Mia looked on, report The Record.
Family friend Caroline McLaggan described Alan as “completely lost and trying desperately to take care of his wee girl and deal with the situation”.
She added: “On New Years Day of 2020 a close family friend, Alan, walked in to his bedroom with nine-year-old daughter Mia to find his beloved wife and mother of his child lying lifeless.
“Michelle had fallen out of the family bed after an early night and it is believed she sustained injuries that lead to her tragic death.
“You can only imagine the trauma that this discovery has had not only on Alan but his poor daughter Mia at such a sensitive age.
Caroline has launched an online fundraiser for the family, from Glasgow, and to make sure “beautiful Michelle gets the send off she deserves” and to take the financial pressure off Alan.
June MacAulay, whose mum is a resident in the care unit Michelle worked in, described her as “the nicest person you could ever meet. She had a heart of gold”.
Michelle and husband Alan had been together for 22 years.
He told the Record he and Mia are staying with relatives because he “can’t face going back” home.
A police spokesman said: “There are no suspicious circumstances.”
