Mum, 30, found dead in river leaving behind three young children she idolised

A mum-of-three has been found dead after her body was tragically pulled from a river.

Amy McAuley, 30, leaves behind her children all under the age of five, including 14-month-old twins Aaliyah and Jayce and her eldest child, four-year-old Brodie.

It was said she "idolised" her three young kids.

The body was found by Gardai shortly before 9am on Friday morning in Dublin.

Brandon Fay, a close family friend, has helped to set up a GoFundMe for her family to help pay for funeral costs and to put any leftover funds to support her three kids.

He told DublinLive : "We as a community would like to help the family raise funds for the funeral of Amy during these hard and difficult times.

The GoFundMe page has so far raised €1,000 (£850).

The page says: "We are raising money for the sudden tragedy of Amy McAuley. Amy suddenly passed away 09/07/2021 due to a sad tragedy.

"We as a community would like to help the family raise funds for the funeral of Amy during these hard and difficult times.

Officers raced to the scene on Friday morning following reports of a body in the water.

The body was removed by Dublin Fire Brigade.

A Gardaí spokesman said on Friday: "Gardaí in Store Street were alerted to an incident of a body in the water this morning Friday 9th July 2021 at approximately 8.57am.

"Gardaí attended the scene and the body of the female was removed from the water by Dublin Fire Brigade near the Custom House Quays. Investigations are ongoing."
