Mum, 28, dies suddenly while running a bath after dropping son off at school

A young mum died after collapsing while running a bath for herself, with her partner coming home to find the house flooded and the woman hospitalised.

Megan Creevy, 28, from Liverpool, had dropped her son at school and returned home to do some housework before she collapsed at her front door on September 7, the Liverpool Echo reported.

Medical professionals were stumped and couldn't initially come up with a cause of death after a post mortem examination.

On the day she died, Megan's partner returned home that night to find their house completely flooded from the upstairs bathroom and landing through to downstairs because the bath had been left running for hours.

The young mum shouted for help from the doorway of her Anfield home before a passer-by rushed over to help her. But Megan collapsed and stopped breathing.

The woman called 999 and Megan was rushed to the Royal Liverpool Hospital but she could not be resuscitated.

Megan was pronounced dead at 13.52pm that day after suffering from a cardiac arrest.

She leaves behind her partner of eleven years and three children including a son aged nine, a daughter aged three and a 14-year-old step son.

Megan's cries for help were recorded on a security camera in her house, which her mother-in-law Jeanette said made "extremely distressing listening" but was necessary in helping them to try and find answers about what happened.

A post-mortem into her death was carried out but proved inconclusive.

Following a further medical investigation over the past month, the cause of death was listed as Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome.

Sudden arrhythmic death syndrome is when someone dies suddenly and unexpectedly from a cardiac arrest, but the cause of the cardiac arrest can’t be found.

Paying tribute to Megan, Jeanette, 52, said: "She had a beautiful, bright, infectious smile that lit up a room.

"She was always concerned if everyone else was okay. She was generous and giving - nothing was ever too much trouble and she would give anyone in need the shirt off her back."
