Multiple units of Dublin Fire Brigade tackle oil tank blaze on busy Finglas road

Multiple units of the Dublin Fire Brigade tackled an oil tank blaze on a busy Finglas road this evening.

Four units were called to reports of a domestic oil tank fire at a house on the Jamestown Road.

The incident began shortly after 4:30pm this afternoon with heavy smoke was visible over a wide area.

Breathing apparatus teams used foam and water as firefighting media to extinguish the fire.

DFB spokesperson told Dublin Live: “On arrival, firefighters discovered a well developed house fire.

“There are no reports of any injuries and a reduced response operation is continuing on the fire ground.”

A spokesperson from Garda Siochana also said: "The incident on Jamestown Road was a domestic fire, there are no reported injuries. Foul play is not suspected."

Fianna Fail Councillor for Finglas, Glasnevin and Ballymun, Keith Connolly tweeted about the incident: “Thankfully everyone is out safely from the extensive house fire at Jamestown Road Finglas, many thanks to DFB.”
