Multiple people try to claim famous adventure dog 'Hamish' who boarded train to Dublin all on his own

Multiple people are claiming ownership of an adventurous dog that took a train on its own from Kildare to Heuston Station.

Irish Rail have issued an appeal for 'Hamish's' owner after he got the 8:46am from Sallins before going for a stroll around the capital's train station.

The paw-dacious  black and brown canine is now being looked after by a staff member who also volunteers for My Lovely Horse.

Doggy day out! Adventurous dog takes the train from Sallins, Kildare to Dublin on his OWN

Now a number of people are hoping to get hold of Hamish as they've all claimed ownership of the pooch.

Irish Rail said: ""A few people have got in contact claiming ownership so we are just waiting to see and verify who the owners are.

The pup is now safe in Heuston Station (irishrail Twitter)

"My Lovely Horse charity, which normally deals with horses, has offered to help out and have been contacted by a lot of people on social media.

"Nothing definite yet but we're hopeful of finding the owners soon."

Hamish has been propelled to newfound fame for his adventure having gotten a full segment on RTE News as well as making the front pages of today's papers.

We're not sure if he's got a bit of Jack Russell in him, but he's certainly not a all-aboarder collie!

Either way, we hope the cute little commuter is reunited with his owner very soon.
