Multiple people have been shot at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in Hawaii, and the active shooter situation is ongoing, according to local reports.
The century-old naval shipyard is on lockdown, and first responders have rushed to the area, Hawaii News Now reported Wednesday.
The Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam said in a tweet that the shooting incident took place at 2:30 p.m. local time, and access to the shipyard has been closed off.
"JBPHH security forces have responded to a reported shooting at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. Due to the ongoing security incident, access/gates to #JBPHH are closed. We will update when we have further information," the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam tweeted.
Saturday will mark National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, marking the 1941 aerial attack that killed 2,403.
