Multiple cars set on fire at industrial estate in Blaenau Gwent

Multiple cars have been set on fire at an industrial estate in Blaenau Gwent.

Two BMW cars and two Range Rovers were damaged after being reportedly set on fire at the Glandwr Industrial Estate in Abertillery at around 5.40am on Thursday, July 1.

Minor damage was also caused to several other vehicles as a result of the fire, according to Gwent Police.

Video footage shows a man in a hooded black tracksuit running towards a car which has flames below it, and then running in the opposite direction.

After officers attended the scene, along with a crew from the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, the fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported.

Police are now appealing for further information. They said they would like to speak to the man shown in the video and images.

Anyone with details of the incident is asked to call Gwent Police on 101, quoting log reference 2100229790.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Fire and Rescue said: "At approximately 5:54am on Thursday, July 1 we received reports of a vehicle fire on Glandwr Industrial Estate in Aberbeeg in Abertillery. A crew attended the scene and extinguished the fire which had affected three vehicles. A stop message was received at 6:32am."
