Multiple car crashes in the past hour have been causing huge delays on the A77 and the M77 near Ayrshire.
It's thought that four cars were involved in the smashes close to junction eight on the southbound carriageway.
One eyewitness has said that compacted snow on the road has left the surface 'like a mirror.'
Emergency services are currently on the scene.
An eyewitness said: "The two accidents were quite close to each other.
"There's been heavy snow on the road and it's been compacted to such an extent that the road actually looks like a mirror.
"Traffic has been very slow in both directions. I think people are taking their time because the conditions are difficult.
"Two police cars and an ambulance were on their way to the scene just as I was passing."
On the A77 northbound, Traffic Scotland have said that a collision is blocking both lanes between Bellfield and Grassyards Road.
Traffic was at a standstill.
