A major road in Bolton was closed in both directions after a crash.
Wigan Road was closed at around 1.30pm this afternoon (December 22), amid a 'multi-vehicle' smash, according to police.
The road was closed from Melbourne Road to Deane Church Lane after the accident, outside Haslam Park Primary School.
Four vehicles were involved in the crash and emergency services rushed to the scene.
'One elderly woman' was treated at the scene by North West Ambulance Service.
Only 'minor injuries' were sustained in the crash, Greater Manchester Police has confirmed.
The road has since reopened.
