Traffic is blocked on the M1 northbound after a collision caused all four lanes to close.
The incident was first reported at 6.43pm on Wednesday, March 11, between junctions 24A and 25 for Nottingham .
Highways England reports that it was a two-vehicle collision which caused the blockage, and that both police and the fire service are in attendance.
Traffic monitoring site Inrix has also reported that all traffic is being "temporarily held" following the collision, which is causing serious delays on the northbound carriageway.
Inrix says: "All traffic being temporarily held and queuing traffic due to multi-vehicle accident on M1 Northbound from J24 A453 Ashby Road (Nottingham South / East Midlands Airport ) to J25 A52 Brian Clough Way (Nottingham / Derby )."
Normal traffic conditions are not expected to return until at least 8.45pm.
