Multi-tasking forecaster Owain Wyn Evans presents the weather...then performs the theme tune

Welsh weather forecaster Owain Wyn Evans has brought a warm front with his attempts at multi-tasking while working from home.

The Ammanford presenter, who works for the BBC, presents the weather on BBC North West Tonight, and has been forecasting from his Manchester home for several weeks.

A keen drummer, he often shares video of himself playing, but on Tuesday he took it a step further and performed the signature theme tune for BBC news.

He captioned it: "When they said try working from home I didn’t realise they’d expect me to do the music too."

And people loved it.

An hour after posting it on Twitter, Owain had more than 20,000 likes, and it had been shared more than 5,000 times.

England rugby legend Brian Moore said, "Love this", while comedian Elis James simply said, "Oh WOW!".

Owain said: "The response has been amazing!

"I mean, the BBC News theme is a brilliant piece of music and I thought perhaps it would sound good rocked up with some drums... but I honestly didn’t expect such a fabulous response."

Owain is set to star in a new S4C series with TV presenter Carol Vorderman.

Iaith ar Daith (Welsh Road Trip) is a new series on S4C and it follows five celebrities who have decided to learn Welsh.

Every week, starting from Sunday, April 19, one celebrity and their Welsh-speaking mentor, who is also a familiar face, travel to different parts of Wales in order to learn more of the language – and there will be several challenges on the way.
