Dundee manager Tony Docherty has refused to give up hope of Josh Mulligan staying at the club beyond the summer, despite interest from Rangers.
The 22-year-old, also linked with English Championship clubs, is out of contract at the end of the season and is free to discuss a move away from Dens Park.
As exclusively revealed by The Rangers Review, Ibrox officials have been monitoring the midfielder, who can also play at right back, over a possible free transfer move.
Earlier this season, it was announced Lyall Cameron would make the switch from Dundee to Rangers in the summer as he agreed a pre-contract.
Now, team-mate Mulligan is viewed as a possible second summer signing for Rangers, however no deal has yet been struck.

Docherty, though, is keen to keep Mulligan at Dundee and vowed not to give up on the hope of Mulligan still being at the club next season.
As quoted by the Daily Record, he said: “We won’t give up hope of Josh staying because you always want to keep your best players.
“We started the season with Luke McCowan, Cameron and Mulligan and all three have improved so much, they’re attracting attention. It’s important that’s what we do at this club – improve and develop players.
“It’s great to see players do well and for as long as Josh is with us, we’ll continue to work with him. Hopefully, we’re working with him for longer.”
