Muller to bring back popular discontinued yoghurts for the first time in almost 30 years

Muller is reviving some of its most popular discontinued yoghurts, bringing back nostalgic favourites for the first time in almost three decades.

The dairy giant has announced the launch of its new Muller Corner Originals range, featuring retro flavours such as Apple Crumble Inspired, Mississippi Mud Pie Inspired and Strawberry & Choc Orange Balls, which first appeared on shelves in the 1990s.

The comeback is part of Muller’s effort to tap into growing consumer demand for nostalgic products. The company says it has received “countless requests” from fans asking for old favourites to return.

“We know how much people loved these flavours the first time around,” said a Muller spokesperson. “Bringing them back allows us to celebrate our history while offering something fun and familiar to our loyal customers.”

The relaunched yoghurts are now available in major UK supermarkets, including Asda, Morrisons, and Sainsbury’s, in both single pots and multipacks.

The revival also ties into a wider refresh of Muller’s product portfolio. The company recently redesigned packaging across its yoghurt, dessert, and drink ranges to make them more distinctive and easier to recognise in stores.

In addition, Muller has relaunched its Muller light line with added vitamins B6 and D, and thicker textures, as part of a broader push to grow its share of the chilled dairy market.

Industry experts say the move reflects a broader “nostalgia wave” sweeping through the food and beverage sector, with brands reintroducing retro products to appeal to both long-time fans and new consumers.

While the exact recipes may have been updated to meet modern standards, Muller insists the familiar flavours remain true to the originals.

The Muller Corner Originals range is rolling out nationwide this month, giving fans the chance to relive a taste of the 1990s.

Several major supermarkets have been reviving discontinued favourites to delight nostalgic shoppers.

Nestlé recently reintroduced a much-loved childhood cereal, Golden Grahams, which had disappeared from stores but returned to shelves last month.

Earlier this year, Aldi brought back one of its classic retro sweets — Fitty Chewy Candy — which reappeared in August. The chewy treats are available in a range of fruity flavours, including Raspberry, Cherry, and Grapefruit.

Other retailers have also joined the throwback trend. Sainsbury’s, Tesco, and Morrisons have all re-launched the iconic 1980s sweet Opal Fruits, marking their first return in nearly three decades.

The individually wrapped chewy squares were originally rebranded as Starburst back in 1998, but their comeback has sparked excitement among fans of the original name and flavour.
