Mulberry’s Alexa bag is back.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the heritage brand has reimagined its iconic tote, originally inspired by TV presenter and model Alexa Chung, with a slew of sustainable twists.

The new and improved Alexas have been made with leather from environmentally accredited tanneries and have been crafted at the brand’s carbon neutral UK factories.

The bag was first conceived after Mulberry creatives spotted a photograph of Chung carrying a vintage Mulberry Elkington briefcase, the brand’s classic men’s style.

The slouchy silhouette was first launched in 2009 and was seen on the arm of everyone from Princess Eugenie to Sarah Jessica Parker. It was eventually discontinued in 2017 by then-creative director Johnny Coca.

The Alexa was the brand’s best-selling of all time. Ten months after the OG Alexa bag launched,  sales increased by 57 per cent and the team was making 500 bags a week to keep up with demand.

The Alexa, Oversized Alexa and Mini Alexa are available to buy online now. Prices start from £895.
