The largest Muji household goods store in the Kanto region opened on Thursday in Tokyo's Koto Ward.
Muji Tokyo Ariake offers almost everything from Muji's product range on its shelves, but also features services unique to the outlet such as home renovation support and room cleaning.
The new store occupies the first three floors of Ariake Garden, a large-scale commercial facility, and covers an area of about 4,600 square meters.
It also has a lifestyle support counter, providing consultation on interior design and accepting used or unwanted items. Staff are available for home visits to propose storage arrangements.
Ryohin Keikaku Co., operator of Muji brand stores, opened one of the world's largest Muji stores this summer in Joetsu, Niigata Prefecture.
"With the Ariake store as a testing ground, we'd like to to develop similar stores in major cities across the country," Ryohin Keikaku Chairman Masaaki Kanai said.
