Much-loved parrot missing from Falkirk as owners appeal for help to trace her

A much-loved parrot has gone missing from Falkirk as her owners appeal for help to trace her.

Rio, who is roughly ten-years-old, disappeared from her home on Etna Road at around 8pm on Wednesday, August 25.

She has been with the family for around eight years and has never been outside the home before, according to owner Shauna Symon.

Shauna said: "She's a friendly parrot, she can’t talk much but she will make a fair bit of noise such as whistling and barking.

"My mum is absolutely devastated about Rio being missing, she’s a very well loved family pet for us."

There may have been a potential sighting in Alloa but this has not been fully confirmed with the family still looking for answers.

It comes after a parrot was reunited with his owners after being discovered over 40 miles away from his home in Ayrshire last month.

Anyone who has seen Rio or may have information on her whereabouts is asked to call 07485012389 or 07824428465.
