One of the Baltic Triangle’s most popular venues has closed its doors for the foreseeable future after five years in business.
Ryde, based in Cains Brewery Village , has taken to its social media pages to announce the news.
The bicycle café said that “due to developments on the site” it has closed its venue on Stanhope Street, which has been its home for the past five years.
It said that while it currently remains closed, they are “working behind the scenes” to secure a new venue.
In the message to fans, the Ryde team wrote: “Hello from all at Ryde we have been missing you and hope you are all safe and well!
“Looking forward to seeing you all once again but due to developments on the site we have moved out from our wonderful building, which has been our home for the past 5 brilliant years.
“We are working behind the scenes to secure a new home for Ryde. Please keep an eye on social media, watch this space!
“We’d just like to thank our customers who have taken the time over the last couple of years to support us and help us grow.
“We’d also like to thank the rest of the site members whose businesses we have seen rise from their first few meetings in our cafe to the amazing places for people to enjoy and visit! Look forward to welcoming you all through our new doors in 2021”.
Fans were quick to comment on Ryde’s Instagram post expressing their sadness at the decision - and looking forward to the day they’ll visit Ryde again.
Fellow Baltic Triangle business Red Brick Market wrote: “Hopefully see you soon guys Cains isn’t the same without you”.
Another Instagram user said: “Sad to see you lose this location” while a third added: “Oh wow! Cains won’t be the same without you. Can’t wait to see where you head next”.
A fourth wrote: “Loved the place great atmosphere everyone who went loved it, looking forward to seeing you wherever you turn up. Good luck.”
